Preventing blossom end rot in tomatoes

How to help farmers dealing with a common problem

The blossom end rot of the tomato is a physiological disorder mainly caused by a lack of calcium. It shows as a greenish patch which will become darker making the product non-marketable. Usually this process happens during warm periods.
To stem the problem it is necessary to control the climate of the greenhouse reducing the humidity deficit and calibrating carefully the water content and the electrical conductivity in the substrate of the crop.
These parameters can be controlled simply and with reliability thanks to our Spagnol computers for greenhouse combined with our sensors for the management of irrigation Spagnol Gravimatic and Spagnol Drenamix.
